In late November, the Board of Directors unanimously decided to accept the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) as a new SystemsX.ch partner institution. With the addition of USI, SystemsX.ch gains a partner with an excellent reputation in the fields of immunology, molecular modeling and computational sciences, and extends the systems biology research network into Ticino.

SystemsX.ch created the Special Opportunities Fund in order to promote ideas and projects that pragmatically contribute to SystemsX.ch and systems biology research in Switzerland but do not have the potential to be supported by traditional funding channels. The applicant is required to come from a SystemsX.ch partner institution. Due to the nature of the funding, there is no official deadline, and applications are welcome at any time. more »

Registration is open for the International Conference on Systems Biology of Human Disease (SBHD), which takes place at the Harvard Medical School in Boston from June 17-19, 2014. SystemsX.ch is co-organizer of the conference and offers a limited number of travel grants for its young researchers (PhD student and postdocs).
