New board members
SystemsX.ch welcomes Alfred Zippelius and Uwe Sauer as new members of the Scientific Executive Board (SEB). They replace Jörg Schifferli and Ruedi Aebersold, who have stepped down from their positions on the board.
SystemsX.ch welcomes Alfred Zippelius and Uwe Sauer as new members of the Scientific Executive Board (SEB). Uwe Sauer is Professor for Systems Biology and leads the “Systems Biology of Metabolism” group at the Institute of Molecular Systems Biology at ETH Zurich. He will contribute to the board with his systems biology knowledge and represent the ETH Zurich on the SEB.
Alfred Zippelius is Professor of Translational Oncology and research group leader of the “Laboratory of Cancer Immunology & Biology” at the Department of Biomedicine, and deputy head of Medical Oncology at the University Hospital Basel. He will contribute his expertise in medical research to the SEB, and represent the University of Basel.
SystemsX.ch thanks the former SEB members for their commitment. Ruedi Aebersold was SEB chairman for the first six years of SystemsX.ch, and was a key figure in establishing the Swiss Initiative in Systems Biology. Jürg Schifferli, an experienced physician and member of the Research Council of the Swiss National Science Foundation, contributed to the recent development of SystemsX.ch’s medical focus.
