Squeezing cells into stem cells

EPFL scientists have developed a new method that turns cells into stem cells by “squeezing” them. The method paves the way for large-scale production of stem cells for medical purposes.

Systems Toxicology 2016 – last places available

The Systems Toxicology 2016 – Real World Applications and Opportunities meeting will take place in Les Diablerets, Switzerland, from January 27-29, 2016. The meeting is supported by SystemsX.ch and explores current and likely future specific applications of systems toxicology approaches in chemical risk evaluation. There are still places available to register for the conference. Participants can submit late-breaking poster abstracts, and students and postdocs can still request travel support. A multitool for cells

Cells have an infallible sense of smell that tells them which direction to grow in to move closer to the source of a scent. ETH researchers have now learned how this sense of smell works. This Research was supported by a SystemsX.ch IPhD grant.
