10th Call for Proposals

The focus of this 10th call is on:

1. Medical Research and Development (MRD) Projects (running until December 2018, i.e. 3 years): With the new project type MRD, SystemsX.ch invites research proposals that develop or apply a systems approach to the study of diseases in a medical, or ideally, clinical setting. Priority will be given to consortia of moderate size (typically 3 to 8 research groups) that apply complementary and quantitative approaches to well-defined medical and clinical problems.

2. Transfer Projects (lasting at least 18 months, with the possibility of extension for a total of 36 months): With this project type, SystemsX.ch wishes to encourage partnerships between academia and the private sector in the area of systems biology. Proposals must comprise at least one each of an academic and a private research group (industry, SMEs, hospitals etc.). Priority will be given to consortia that include a (private) hospital and apply a systems approach to clinical questions.

Submission deadline for the proposals of this 10th call is July 31, 2014. For both project types, please apply via mySNF: www.mysnf.ch.

The SNSF review panel will convene on October 14-15, 2014 to assess the proposals. Main applicants for an MRD Project may be invited to present their proposal and discuss it with the SNSF panel.

Please note: This will be the last call for large research proposals within SystemsX.ch, as the initiative will come to an end in 2018.
